VCs Are In A Tougher Place Now But Solid Principles Are Timeless
I like this interview with Jeff Clavier, founder and managing partner of SoftTech VC, Palo Alto, CA, and Dave Hornik, a partner at August Capital, Menlo Park, CA. Digital Media seems to be one of the hot buttons because it permeates the cultural push for various "simple" end-user products that are very cross-polinated with the ever-changing devices and mini-applications. It is almost a circular alpha stage tech cycle.
It is interesting how the list of the start-ups they have invested in almost goes back to the early 90's "load-the-paint-barrel-and-hope-something-will-stick-and-look-like-art" mindset...
